Commercial building at Clare - 13 December 2025

CFS responded to multiple Triple Zero calls reporting an explosion and fire at a commercial building in Clare just after 9:20 am.

Twenty CFS volunteers responded on 5 trucks and worked alongside SA Police, SA Ambulance Service, and SA Power Networks to manage the fire.

Firefighters acted quickly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties.

Specialist crews wearing breathing apparatus used monitoring equipment to assess atmospheric conditions around the site.

Crews will remain on site for some time to keep monitoring the situation and check for hot spots to ensure the community stays safe.

The fire caused an estimated $750,000 in damages, and Fire Investigators have been called to the scene.

The rear section of the building has been completely destroyed as a result of the incident.

Further assessments are required to check surrounding buildings for potential structural damage.

Emergency services are working on and around nearby roads, and motorists are asked to avoid the area where possible.
