B-double truck fire at Suttontown - 23 August 2025

At 11:45 pm on Friday 22 August, around 20 CFS firefighters and 5 trucks responded to a B-double truck fire in Suttontown, about 5 km north of Mount Gambier in the Limestone Coast region.

Thanks to the quick thinking of the driver, the trailers carrying milk powder were safely disconnected from the prime mover, allowing firefighters to extinguish the blaze and save one of the trailers.

Fortunately, the driver was unharmed.

Despite the quick response, one of the trailers was completely destroyed, with damages estimated at $750,000.
