$400,000 Truck fire on the Dukes Highway - 20 September 2023

A B-double truck carrying white wine from the Barossa has caught alight on the Dukes Highway outside Cooke Plains.

5 CFS crews with approximately 25 volunteer firefighters arrived on scene to find the driver had safely exited the vehicle and detached the prime mover while flames continued to engulf both trailers. Firefighters were able to control the blaze in under an hour and will remain on scene until the truck is removed to prevent reignition.

Fire cause is believed to be a mechanical fault in one of the trailers which were both significantly impacted with damaged costs estimated at $400,000.

SA Police are currently on scene. Traffic control is in place surrounding the incident and CFS reminds motorists to drive to conditions.
