$400,000 structure fire at Stirling North - 26 August 2023

CFS and MFS crews remain on scene at a structure fire on Davenport Avenue at Stirling North, supported by SA Ambulance Service, SA Police and SA Power Networks.

Firefighters on 6 CFS trucks and 3 MFS trucks were called to the house on Davenport Avenue at 11:30am this morning, where they found a single story home completely engulfed in fire.

Crews got to work on containing the blaze, which started to spread to a nearby tree, putting a neighbouring home under threat. Firefighters worked hard to stop the fire from spreading and contain two gas cylinders, which had caught alight.

Two firefighters were treated on scene for minor injuries.

It’s expected crews will remain on scene for sometime extinguishing the fire and putting out hot spots.

An Advice Message remains current for this incident as it is generating a large amount of smoke, which is drifting in a southerly direction towards Quorn Rd and Edward St. The CFS advice the community to remain inside, keep windows and doors closed, be aware and stay informed.

Total damages are estimated to be $400,000 and the cause is undetermined.
