$150,000 shed fire at Virginia - 9 May 2023
CFS crews were alerted to a structure fire in a shed on a property at Virginia at 1:30am this morning.
Three CFS trucks and a Bulk Water Carrier responded to the incident, supported by MFS crews, finding a 20x10 metre shed alight, which had spread to a secondary shed on the property and impacted solar panels.
The quick response of firefighters prevented the spread of the fire within the second shed to more than half of the structure and defended the home on the property.
A third shed, with heavy machinery and farm equipment was also on the property and remained unimpacted.
CFS and MFS crews were supported by SA Police and SA Ambulance crews who were also on scene.
No one was at home at the time of the fire, with the property owners currently moving out. It’s estimated total losses are approximately $150,000.
Fire cause investigators will attend at first light this morning.
