$150,000 home destroyed by fire in Alawoona - 13 December 2019

At 4:47 this morning CFS and MFS crews were alerted to a house fire at High Street, Aloowana, in the Murraylands.

The single resident in the home was alerted to the fire after they were woken by their dog barking at the flames.

The resident then called 000 and was able to safely exit the building.

Two CFS and one MFS fire truck, supported by a CFS Bulk Water Carrier, arrived to find the home engulfed in flames.

Parts of the building are still currently burning, with members of the public advised there will be localised road closures and emergency service vehicles remaining in the area.

The home has been completely destroyed, with damages estimated at $150,000.

Fire Cause Investigators will attend later today to determine the cause.
