At 11:45 this morning, CFS Crews were alerted to a grass fire burning on a property located on Pistol Road, Naracoorte, in the State’s South East.

12 CFS trucks staffed by 65 Crew attended the fire, which threatened a nearby home.

Crews on the ground were supported by four fixed wing bombers that undertook tactical drops on the fire ground.

Due to the quick action of CFS crews, two houses were saved, however 5 hectares of land, two sheds, a vehicle and a caravan were destroyed, with damages estimated to be in excess of $100,000.

The fire has been declared as contained, however some assets and structures affected are still smouldering, with fire fighters remaining on the scene to fully extinguish the fire and mop up.
