Firey Women, Mount Gambier

The Firey Women workshops offer a safe and supportive environment for women to develop practical skills to protect their families and homes from bushfires. During the workshop, participants learn about emotional preparedness, fire danger ratings and warnings, the differences between a “leave early” and a “stay and defend” plan, creating a bushfire survival plan, identifying hazards around the home, using pumps and firefighting equipment, and understanding bushfire behaviour. Morning tea and lunch will be provided, and each attendee must register separately to assist with catering.
