House fire at Balaklava - 22 May 2025

CFS firefighters responded to a fire in a house at Balaklava in the Mid North, just before 5 o’clock this morning.

15 volunteer firefighters arrived to find a fire in the front room of the house. Crews limited the spread of the fire, preventing it from continuing through the house and containing it to the front room.

The quick actions by crews to reduce the fire impact has resulted in a $250,000 save, with total losses estimated at $40,000. Fire Investigators will be attending to determine the cause.

CFS crews will remain on scene for some time, extinguishing any hot spots and making the scene safe.

SA Ambulance Service, SA Police and SA Power Networks were on scene.
