$500,000 hay and equipment shed fire at Charleston
At 1:30 this afternoon fifteen CFS crews were alerted to a shed fire at by multiple 000 callers.
Our volunteer firefighters arrived to find a 50m by 50m shed containing hay and farm machinery engulfed in flames.
Crews were able to protect a nearby home and other sheds, but the machinery and hay in the shed was destroyed.
Damages are estimated to be $500,000 with the fire started by sparks from an angle grinder being used in the shed.
