28/03/2015

Just before 11pm on Friday 27th March firefighters from the SA Country Fire Service were called to reports of a house fire on Ironbank Road, Upper Sturt in the Adelaide Hills.

On arrival firefighters found the home fully involved and quickly got to work to extinguish the blaze.

More than 30 Firefighters from 6 appliances including firefighters from the SA Metropolitan Fire Service and some wearing breathing apparatus took approximately 45 minutes to contain the fire.

Unfortunately despite the efforts of firefighters the home has been fully destroyed.

Early dollar damage estimates have been set at approximately $200 000 and SA Police and SA Metropolitan Fire Service Fire Cause Investigators have been called to investigate. At this stage the cause is undetermined but not believed to be suspicious.

Local SA Police and SA Ambulance were also in attendance. The occupants were home at the time the fire started and were able to escape uninjured.
