SA Country Fire Service in-house Bushfire Safety for Media training

SA Country Fire Service (CFS) will offer a series of in-house Bushfire Safety for Media training sessions to media representatives to gain media accreditation to prioritise access to firegrounds when deemed appropriate.

The training program consists of a two-hour session which covers basic fire awareness and safety and survival information on a fireground. The training also includes an overview of how bushfires are managed by the CFS and its volunteer firefighters.

The CFS is holding 10 metropolitan sessions for media representatives.

This card will not always guarantee access to a fire ground, which will be at the discretion of the CFS but without accreditation media will be required to wait until a fire ground is open for general public to enter. Safety will always remain the priority.
