SA Country Fire Service Total Fire Ban for the Mount Lofty Ranges - Wednesday, April 15

14/04/2020

SA Country Fire Service has issued a Total Fire Ban for the Mount Lofty Ranges on Wednesday, April 15.

CFS State Duty Commander Brett Loughlin said it is a highly dynamic time in South Australia with the COVID-19 pandemic, however the public should be reassured CFS crews are ready to respond to any emergency.

People living in the Mount Lofty Ranges need to review their Bushfire Survival Plans with current directions in mind.

"We have been in talks today with SA Police and SA Health about how people should respond if a bushfire starts near them," Mr Loughlin said.

If you have been directed to self-isolate and there is a bushfire emergency near you, you are allowed to leave your property to travel to your closest Bushfire Safer Place - available on the website. ONLY LEAVE IF IT IS SAFE TO DO SO.

You must not congregate with others at that Bushfire Safer Place.

IF IT IS NOT SAFE TO LEAVE - solid buildings provide protection from bushfire.

If people are found to leave their property without a valid reason, they will be investigated by police.
