Fire Bans issued for Monday 5th October 2015

04/10/2015

The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) advises that due to increasing temperature and strengthening winds with a lower relative humidity the following Fire Danger Ratings will apply for Monday 5th October, 2015:

Mt. Lofty Ranges - Extreme
Lower South East - Extreme
Kangaroo Island - Severe

People are reminded that any burning off within the designated Fire Ban districts with a Total Fire Ban need to be fully extinguished by midnight tonight. For information on the use of BBQs and Camp fires within a Fire Ban District with a Total Fire Ban declared please visit the CFS website www.cfs.sa.gov.au

CFS Volunteers are on high alert around the state to respond to any threat of bushfire and will be supported by two fixed wing aircraft and one observation aircraft on active standby.

The public are advised to be aware of their risk and stay informed throughout the day by listening to their local radio and by checking the CFS website regularly for updates on weather and bushfire conditions.

The unseasonal heat and issuing of such Fire Danger Ratings is a timely reminder that the public need to activate and follow their Bushfire Survival Plan. To download your Bushfire Survival Plan Guide and for further information on Fire Danger Ratings, your level of risk and staying bushfire ready, visit the CFS website.
