Smoke Advice Bundaleer North Fire

19/01/2013

The SA Country Fire Service is advising that whilst the Bundaleer North fire in the States Mid North has been contained, there are still large amounts of smoke issuing from the fire ground.

While the smoke is still visible in the areas around the fire ground due to the current weather conditions, the community should not be overly concerned.

Regional Coordinator, Bluey Devine, said "We are asking the community to remain vigilant and be aware of the current situation regarding this fire, however the smoke currently in the area is not a cause for added concern."

The smoke has not started to impact on roads at this time, but people travelling in the area still need to be cautious as the situation may change, Mr Devine said.

Those that may be effected by smoke are asked to remain indoors, close all window and remain out of any smoke effected areas.

Currently CFS has 100 firefighters still working on the 2500 hectare fireground and they will remain on scene for some time.
