Smoke from Kangarilla fire flare-up

12/02/2013

A flare-up from a fire at Kangarilla in the Adelaide Hills that generated smoke is now under control.

CFS crews who were in the area reported the flare-up just after three o'clock.

Just over 30 firefighters were called-in and with the aid of a fixed-winged water bomber, were able to contain the fire within 30 minutes.

CFS Duty Officer Ian Hunter said the quick action of CFS volunteers prevented the fire from spreading further.

"This was contained through the quick response of our firefighters who were assisted by four water bombing drops," he said.

This was near the same area where a fire burnt about five hectares over two hours, yesterday afternoon.
