SMOKE ADVICE FOR BANGOR FIRE

10/02/2014

There was a break-out experienced overnight at the Bangor fire around the Napperby Quarry area, with an increase in activity on the south-west corner currently occurring between Historic Drive and Sunnyville Road, south of Napperby.

A number of firefighting resources are concentrated in this area and re working to hold the fire, which is emanating significant amounts of smoke from the fireground causing poor visibility.

Smoke is currently affecting Highway One, Napperby, Warnertown, Neshalby and is visible around Port Pirie.

Smoke will continue to be present in these areas and the community is asked to remain vigilant and take care when on the roads, and continue to monitor the fire situation.

People with respiratory and cardiac problems are advised to stay inside and close all doors and windows until the smoke has passed.
