$80 000 damage caused to shed in fire at Roseworthy

09/06/2014

Just before midday today firefighters from the SA Country Fire Service and the SA Metropolitan Fire Service were responded to reports of a fire in a shed on Twartz Road, Roseworthy to the north of Adelaide.

Reported via triple zero by a neighbour, on arrival firefighters found a fire in the front half of the 6m x 12m shed.

Firefighters worked hard to contain the fire within 30minutes and prevented the fire from spreading to the back half of the shed where there was a purpose built music room and music equipment.

Unfortunately the fire has caused considerable damage to the front half of the shed as well as destroying equipment such as a lawn mower and jet ski and tools stored inside.

At this stage the cause of the fire has not been determined, Fire Cause Investigators from MFS and SA Police have been requested to attend and will be on scene this afternoon.

The total dollar damage has been estimated at $80 000.

SA Ambulance and SA Police were also on scene.
