SMOKE IN SOUTH EAST FROM PRESCRIBED BURN IN VICTORIA
09/10/2014
The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) is advising people in the South East that smoke may be visible in the area.
The smoke is from a prescribed burn at the Rennick State Forest in Victoria about 25 kilometres west of Dartmoor and north of the Princes Highway.
Acting Regional Commander Sindy McCourt is advising people in the area to treat the smoke with caution and not be alarmed.
"Those travelling in the South East should exercise caution as smoke may reduce visibility," she said.
People with respiratory problems are advised to stay inside and close all doors and windows until the smoke has passed.
While the CFS is aware of smoke in the South East, it does advise any residents who observe a fire burning unattended, to call Triple Zero immediately.
