SA Firefighters to help New South Wales

Three firefighting strike teams and Incident Management support will depart Adelaide tomorrow to aid colleagues in the New South Wales Rural Fire Service.

In total 57 personnel will travel to Northern New South Wales, including 42 SA Country Fire Service (CFS) firefighters, four Incident Management Support specialists, seven SA Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) firefighters, and two South Australian Ambulance Service (SAAS) Officers.

SA firefighters will be deployed in three strike teams to support New South Wales Rural Fire Service in their efforts to contain the fires burning in the North of the State.

The breakdown of the CFS contingent is:

16 CFS Region 1 volunteers,
16 CFS Region 2 volunteers,
5 CFS Region 3 volunteers,
5 CFS Region 4 volunteers, and
7 CFS Staff.

The four Incident Management specialists from CFS, State Emergency Service (SES) and Department of Environment and Water (DEW) will be working with local teams in Incident Control Centres near Glen Innes.
