Bagnells Well Rd fire near Warooka in the Yorke Peninsula

SA Country Fire Service volunteer firefighters are on scene at a grass and scrub fire south east of Hardwick Bay near Warooka on the Yorke Peninsula.

The quick work of firefighters, assisted by 30 Farm Fire Units, stopped the fire from spreading to nearby properties and restricted the fire to 113 hectares.

Crews will remain on scene for several hours, extinguishing hot spots and ensuring the perimeter of the fireground is safe.

Smoke may be seen in the area for the coming days. All roads remain open at this time; however, this can change at short notice.

Emergency services will be working on and around roads in the area, and motorists are advised to stay away. If you need to travel on roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions.
