Harvester Fire

ISSUED FOR MUNDOORA AND PORT BROUGHTON

The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) advises people in and around the Mundoora / Port Broughton area in the Mid North that a large amount of smoke is visible.

The cause of the smoke is a harvester fire on a rural property near Ireland Road and Routleys Road, Mundoora. This will continue to produce smoke for several hours.

This fire had caused several small spot fires immediately around the machine but is now confined to the harvester. The fire is not expected to break away from the machine and does not pose any threat to the community.

CFS resources supported by farm fire units will remain on scene for at least the next few hours working to fully extinguish the fire.

As a precaution residents in the area who suffer from respiratory or cardiac conditions may wish to consider closing all doors and windows and remaining indoors.
