Incident Update for Malinong

Issued for MALINONG, 18kms north east of Meningie in the Coorong.

The CFS remains on scene at a large stubble fire,18kms north east of Meningie in the Coorong, South Australia.

Due to the hard work of CFS firefighters, supported by local Farm Fire Units and aircraft this fire currently poses no threat to the community.

The efforts of all crews on site resulted in successfully saving two properties and a significant amount of farm land from damage. The fire has burnt approximately 535 hectares, with a perimeter of around 14kms.

CFS firefighters will remain on scene working with favourable conditions overnight to continue to extinguish and patrol the fireground.

Roads are currently open around this incident, however, this may change at short notice. Continue to monitor at: traffic.sa.gov.au. Emergency services will be working on and around roads in the area, and motorists are advised to stay away. If you need to travel on roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions.

Smoke may be impacting roads in the area, and visibility may be reduced. To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
