Lock Grass Fire
The CFS is responding to a grass fire near the township of Lock on the central Eyre Peninsula, South Australia.
CFS volunteers on 6 trucks, supported by 10 Farm Fire Units and 5 aircraft, including firebombers and observational aircraft, have prevented the fire from spreading.
Lock fire has burnt approximately 36 ha of farming land and was halted before it could spread into the Barwell Conservation Park. Crews will remain on scene into late this evening to finish putting out hot spots and ensure the area remains safe.
The cause of the fire is from farming machinery
This fire may cause smoke to drift over Young Road and the Tod highway. If driving in the area please drive to conditions.
