Langhorne Creek structure fire
CFS is responding to a large industrial shed fire on Kangaroo Road, Langhorne Creek, approximately 20 km east of Strathalbyn in the Adelaide Hills.
CFS volunteers on 18 trucks, supported by SA Metropolitan Fire Service crews and SA Ambulance Services, are working to extinguish the fire, which is producing a large amount of smoke in the area.
The fire is burning in packaging materials and general waste stored within the industrial facility.
Fire Investigators are attending the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
Specialist CFS Hazardous Material crews are on scene conducting atmospheric monitoring, and crews are expected to remain on site for some time.
To ensure community safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
The community are advised to close all windows and doors and remain indoors, particularly those with respiratory or cardiac conditions. Anyone with chronic respiratory issues should monitor their condition and seek medical assistance if required.
