Hornsdale
The CFS continues responding to a grass fire north of Ngadjuri Mail Trak at Hornsdale, approximately 20kms north of Jamestown in the upper mid-north, South Australia.
CFS volunteers on 16 CFS trucks, supported by a number of Farm Fire Units and 5 aircraft, including firebombers and observational aircraft have been working to extinguish the fire which is burning in grass and scrub.
Crews have stopped the fire from spreading but are still working to contain this fire. Firefighters are expected to remain on scene into this evening and will continue monitoring over the coming days.
Smoke may be impacting roads in the area, and visibility may be reduced. To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
Roads are currently open around this incident however this may change at short notice. Continue to monitor road closures at: traffic.sa.gov.au
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
