Incident Update for Fisher Bushfire

Issued for FISHER near SWAN REACH IN THE MURRAYLANDS.

A bushfire has been burning at Fisher on the western side of the river, near Swan Reach in the Murraylands, South Australia.

The threat from this fire has reduced, however CFS crews will continue to patrol the area until later tonight.

The fire has been contained by an earth break. Backburning activities conducted overnight have reduced fuels and additional heavy machinery worked today to reinforce the break.

Firefighters from the Country Fire Service and National Parks and Wildlife Services SA have worked extremely hard overnight and throughout today to extinguish flare ups and cool hotspots.

The fire is believed to have started from lightning strikes in the area yesterday. The fireground is 128 hectares in size.

If you need to travel on roads nearby, please take care and drive to the local conditions, as heavy machinery and firefighting equipment will be moving in the area until later tonight..
