Deep Creek Fire
The Deep Creek Fire was officially declared to be contained late yesterday, however personnel from all over Australia continue to work on this fire. Firefighters are extinguishing hotspots in steep, heavily vegetated and inaccessible country ahead of a potential day of increased weather on Wednesday. Incident Management personnel also continue to support and guide the work that is occurring on the fireground.
A contained fire means the spread of the fire has halted but it may still be burning freely within the perimeter of the fire. Smoke and flames may continue to be visible from this fire for a number of days. However, if the public notice any unattended fire, call Triple Zero (000).
Hazardous tree assessments are still in the process of being finalised. While several roads were recently opened, others still require assessment and work from arborists to be deemed safe to open. Please refer to traffic.sa.gov.au for the most current information. If you must travel in the area, please drive to conditions and follow directions from emergency services.
