Clare Fire

CFS crews are currently attending a fire at Clare in the Mid North of South Australia. The Clare Fire is presently contained to an area between Jarman Court, Farrell Flat Road, White Hut Road, and Waller Drive, within the Clare township.

CFS volunteers on 9 trucks, supported by South Australia Police, are on scene working to extinguish hot spots. The quick actions and good work of crews, supported by 14 water bomber drops, have helped contain the fire without damage to surrounding properties.

CFS firefighters have prevented the fire from spreading to homes along Jarman Court and White Hut Road, as well as the PIRSA site. Crews will remain on site until the fire is declared safe.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and South Australia Police are currently investigating the matter.

Roads are currently open around this incident, however the public are asked not to venture into the area as smoke is impacting roads and visibility may be reduced. To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel working in the area, please do not enter unless necessary.

Smoke will be present in the surrounding area overnight. Those with breathing difficulties or medical conditions should consider staying indoors with doors and windows closed..
