Birchmore Bushfire on Kangaroo Island

The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) advises they are on scene at a fire at Birchmore, located West of Nepean Bay, on Kangaroo Island.

The fire is currently contained to 305 hectares in grass and scrub. 20 CFS and DEW firefighters will be in attendance throughout the day extinguishing hot spots and monitoring the fire ground.

Smoke may be visible to community members in the surrounding areas during the day.

Emergency services will be working on and around roads in the area, and motorists are advised to stay away. If you need to travel on roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions..
