Birchmore Bushfire
The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) advises they are on scene at a fire at Birchmore, located West of Nepean Bay, on Kangaroo Island.
The fire is currently contained to 305 hectares in grass and scrub. 60 CFS firefighters will be in attendance throughout the night and continue to black out the fire edge.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and will be investigated.
Emergency services will be working on and around roads in the area, and motorists are advised to stay away. If you need to travel on roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions.
Smoke may be visible to community members in the surrounding areas overnight and tomorrow. We encourage the local community to keep an eye on the progress of this fire and any further information provided by CFS..
