EMERGENCY WARNING FOR A BUSHFIRE BURNING UNDER SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS

Issued for Stansbury

CFS advises that a serious bushfire is burning out of control at Stansbury on the Yorke Peninsula near St Vincent Highway (B88), Yelland Road, Woodgee Road and Minlaton .

If you are in this area you are in danger. There is a risk to your life and property.

Act now. Only leave if the path is clear to a safer place. If you can't leave, take shelter in a solid building and actively defend it.

The STANSBURY fire is travelling in a easterly and southerly direction towards St Vincent Highway (B88), Stansbury Township, Cliff Farm road, Klein Point Road, and Rocky Waterhole Road.

The fire is uncontrolled and burning in Stubble. You should not enter this area as the roads may not be safe.

Well prepared and actively defended homes can offer safety.

Check and follow your Bushfire Survival Plan. If you don't have a plan, take shelter before the fire arrives as heat from the fire can kill you well before the flames reach you.

If the building catches fire, you need to get out and go to an area that has already been burnt. After the fire has passed, check around you and put out anything burning.
