Check and follow your Bushfire Survival Plan. If you don't have a plan, take shelter in a solid building before the fire arrives as heat from the fire can kill you well before the flames reach you.

Homes that have been built to withstand a bushfire, are prepared to the highest level and actively defended may provide safety.

If the building catches fire, you need to get out and go to an area that has already been burnt. After the fire has passed, check around you and put out anything burning.

Stay tuned to your local ABC on a battery-powered radio for updates.
