Smoke visible across Gulnare

The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) advises people in and around Gulnare that a large amout of smoke is visible in the area.

The smoke is due to fire contained near Foulis Road, approximately 3 kilometers south west of Gulnare township, about 2 kilometers from the Horrocks Highway..

grass and crop fire, about 20 hectares burnt, 35 CFS firefighters involved.

CFS Region 4 Commander Bluey Devine says that members of the public should not be concerned by the smoke.

'Residents in the area are advised to close doors and windows until the smoke passes,' he said.

'Those travelling in the area should exercise caution as smoke may reduce visibility.'

People with respiratory problems are advised to stay inside and close all doors and windows until the smoke has passed.

While the CFS is aware of smoke in the Gulnare area, it does advise residents that should they observe a fire burning unattended, that they should call Triple Zero immediately.
