Smoke visible across North West and North East Pastoral

Friday November 20, 2015

The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) advises people in and around North West and North East Pastoral that a large amout of smoke is visible in the area.

The smoke is due to Smoke drift .

CFS is receiving reports from the APY lands, Coober Pedy, Roxby Downs and Woomera communities of dense smoke drift.

CFS CFS Media says that members of the public should not be concerned by the smoke.

'Residents in the area are advised to close doors and windows until the smoke passes,' He said.

'Those travelling in the area should exercise caution as smoke may reduce visibility.'

People with respiratory problems are advised to stay inside and close all doors and windows until the smoke has passed.

While the CFS is aware of smoke in the North West and North East Pastoral area, it does advise residents that should they observe a fire burning unattended, that they should call Triple Zero immediately.
