Fire Destroys Tailem Bend Home

Just before 7pm this evening SA Country Fire Service crews were called to a structure fire at Tailem Bend, south east of Murray Bridge.

On arrive to the princes highway property, crews found the home fully ablaze.

More than 30 fire fighters from 5 appliances and 1 bulk water carrier, including crews wearing breathing apparatus, contained the fire, which is believed to have started in a front lounge room within an hour.

All occupants that were home at the time the fire started managed to escape uninjured.

Firefighters remained on scene for sometime ensuring that the fire was fully extinguished, unfortunately the fire has completely destroyed the home.

Dollar damage estimates have been set at $200 000 with local SA Police crime scene investigators undertaking investigations. The cause of the fire has not been determined but is not suspicious.

SA Ambulance were also on scene.
