Bundaleer Fire Update
More than 230 SA Country Fire Service firefighters supported by farm fire units are continuing to work through the night on a fire in the Bundaleer Forest in the States Mid North.
Crews are still waiting for the expected wind change that will reach the area around midnight and push the fire in a north-easterly direction.
Firefighters are concentrating their efforts on establishing control lines which has been made difficult due to the tough and in some areas inaccessible terrain they are working in.
CFS State Coordinator, Brenton Eden, said that this fire is yet to be brought under control and it will require the attendance of CFS crew for a number of days before it is declared safe.
"The community still need to remain vigilant," Mr Eden said.
People in the area are reminded that smoke may create hazardous conditions and reduce visibility on roads. Once the wind change has occurred the smoke from the fire will be pushed towards the Jamestown area.
