Victorian bushfire smoke drifts into SA
A bushfire which continues to burn in Victoria is causing smoke to drift over the border into South Australia.
The fire has burnt about 2,000 hectares since yesterday about 18 kilometres south east of Nelson in the south-western region of Victoria.
CFS Regional Duty Officer Jason Druwitt said that smoke from this fire has spread across a wide area of South Australia particularly in the south-east and further north.
"There is smoke in areas including Mount Gambier, Naracoorte and Bordertown," Mr Druwitt said.
Residents and travellers in these areas should be aware that the smoke could be emanating from the Nelson bushfire in Victoria but are also advised to remain vigilant at all times during the Fire Danger Season.
"If anyone is still uncertain about the smoke or they notice any flames, they should ring Triple Zero immediately," Mr Druitt said.
