01/03/2014
Just after 330am this morning SA Country Fire Service firefighters were alerted to a structure fire at Duncan on Kangaroo Island.
More than 20 firefighters were responded to the structure after a nearby resident alerted the CFS to the fire in the Roo Lagoon Gallery on the Playford Highway.
The structure which sits away from the main residence on the property was fully ablaze when firefighters responded and despite the best efforts of crews, some wearing breathing apparatus, the gallery was fully destroyed.
The gallery was home to wood turning equipment and art works, no one was in the gallery at the time the fire started.
At this stage there has been no dollar damage estimate or cause set, with fire cause investigators responding to the Island today.
SA Ambulance and SA Police were also responded to the incident.
