SMOKE CONTINUES FROM PORT MACDONNELL BURN-OFF

31/10/2012

An ongoing burn-off that began on a private property at Port MacDonnell in the state's south east just over a week ago, has been completed but continues to generate smoke in the region.

The Country Fire Service (CFS) has had several inquiries from the general public who have been assured there is no fire or any threat to property.

The burn-off on the Millards Road property began on Tuesday 23, October and is expected to continue to cause smoke for the next few days.

People with respiratory problems are advised to stay inside and close all doors and windows until the smoke has passed.

While the CFS is aware of smoke in the Port MacDonnell area, residents are asked to be vigilant and should they observe any fire burning unattended, to call Triple Zero immediately.
