PRIVATE BURN-OFF GENERATES SMOKE NEAR PORT MACDONNELL

23/10/2012

A burn-off on a private property at Port MacDonnell is causing smoke in the region that has led to several inquiries to the Country Fire Service (CFS).

The burn-off which began on the Millards Road property is expected to continue to burn and generate smoke for most of this week.

Acting Regional Commander Jason Druwitt said although the smoke is visible over a wide distance and the glare of the fire will become more prominent during the night, the fire does not pose any threat.
