Tulka fire cause determined

20/11/2012

Country Fire Service (CFS), Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) and SAPOL investigators have now determined the cause of last week's fire near Tulka on Eyre Peninsula.

The fire which swept through more than 1,800 hectares of thick scrubland on Monday 12 November was caused by lightning.

The bushfire led to a home, 14 cabins, a caravan, a campervan, several sheds and four cars being destroyed.

There were no reports of any serious injuries from this fire.

The CFS today has declared Catastrophic fire danger warnings for the Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Lower Eyre Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula.

Fire bans have also been declared in all but one of South Australia's 15 Fire Ban Districts, with the Adelaide Metropolitan District being exempted with a High Fire Ban rating.
