BUSHFIRE ADVICE MESSAGE

Issued for Stockyard Plain

CFS is currently attending a fire near STOCKYARD PLAIN in the Riverland approximately 18km west of Waikerie. The fire is burning in a South Westerly direction towards the Sturt Highway. The Sturt Highway is closed in both directions.

Although this fire is not a threat to life or property, if you are in this area stay alert, monitor local conditions and decide what you will do if the situation changes.

Check and follow your Bushfire Survival Plan and stay tuned to your local ABC on a battery-powered radio for updates.

If you are driving in the area, be careful as smoke may reduce visibility. If the smoke is causing you concern at home, close all doors and windows and stay inside.
