Willunga Fire

The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) is on scene at a grass fire 5 kilometres east of Willunga in the Southern Mount Lofty Ranges.

Approximately 25 CFS volunteers on 5 fire trucks, supported by Farm Fire Units and SA Police, have contained the fire and are working to extinguish remaining hot spots. Crews were also supported by 6 aircraft, including fire bombers and observational aircraft, which completed 12 water drops.

CFS firefighters have successfully prevented the fire from spreading to nearby houses that were directly in the path of the fire.

The cause of the fire is not considered suspicious and SA Police are investigating.

Emergency services may be working on and around roads in the area, including Range Road, and motorists are advised to stay clear of the area.
