Coulta Fire


The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) is responding to a scrub fire near Coulta, approximately 60km north-west of Port Lincoln.

CFS volunteer firefighters on 10 trucks, supported by earthwork machinery, firebombers, observational aircraft, and Farm Fire Units, are working to extinguish the fire currently burning in scrub within the Marble Range.

Earthmoving equipment is being used to create a mineral earth break around the fire perimeter and CFS volunteer firefighters and Farm Fire Units will continue firefighting efforts throughout the night. Further aviation support will commence again in the morning.

The fire is not a direct threat to any property at this time, but anyone in the area is encouraged to stay informed.

Smoke can be seen from surrounding areas and will be visible from the highway. Roads are currently open around this incident, however this may change at short notice. Continue to monitor road closures at: traffic.sa.gov.au.
