Coomandook Haystack Fire
The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) is continuing to monitor a haystack fire on Flowery Plain Road, Coomandook, near Tailem Bend.
The fire has involved approximately 1,000 large square bales and is expected to continue burning for the remainder of the week.
The landowner has engaged heavy machinery to start breaking up the haystack to allow it to burn itself out. As a result, an increase in smoke may be visible across the Coomandook and Tailem Bend areas. People travelling through the area are advised to take care due to reduced visibility.
CFS crews will continue to inspect the site to ensure the fire remains contained and does not pose a risk to surrounding properties.
