30 October – 5 November 2016
This year's Bushfire Action Week aims to encourage everyone across South Australia to "Plan to Survive” this Fire Danger Season.
Bushfire Action Week will feature a series of events in many parts of South Australia providing the opportunity for people to engage with the CFS and become proactive in their personal and community's bushfire safety.
This will involve a variety of activities including the launch of the 2016/17 Fire Danger Season awareness campaign, bushfire safety displays, barbecues and information sessions in Bunnings Warehouses in Mt Gambier, Murray Bridge and Mt Barker, opportunities to interact with the CFS through social media and Open Days at several local Brigades.
"Plan to Survive" is the key message of Bushfire Action Week. South Australians need to understand that Bushfire will happen and therefore they need to plan what they and their family should do when it does.
The CFS is encouraging everyone to plan for their personal safety, their families', others at risk including neighbours and their pets and livestock, in developing their Bushfire Survival Plan.
A series of events and activities will take place between Sunday October 30 and Saturday November 5 2016 encouraging everyone to prepare for the Fire Danger Season and develop a Bushfire Survival Plan.
