Subject to suitable weather conditions the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) on behalf of the Mount Lofty Ranges Fire Cooperative will conduct a prescribed burn at Onkaparinga Estuary on Tuesday the 9th of April.DEWNR on behalf of the Mount Lofty Ranges Fire Cooperative will also conduct a prescribed burn on SA Water land at Millbrook Reservoir Reserve on Tuesday the 9th of April.

Prescribed burn in Hincks Wilderness Protection Area and Bascombe Well Conservation Park

Subject to suitable weather conditions, the Department for Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) will undertake prescribed burns in Hincks Wilderness Protection Area and Bascombe Well Conservation Park on Tuesday the 9th of April 2013.? Both prescribed burns are due to begin at approximately 12:30pm and will conclude on Thursday at about 8 pm.? The burn in Hincks Wilderness Protection Area will affect about 1000 hectares, 23 kilometres north-west of Port Neil; the prescribed burn at Bascombe Well Conservation Park will affect about 500 hectares, 25 kilometres south west of Lock.? Smoke may be visible from Port Neil and Lock but is unlikely to impact on roads.The prescribed burns will reduce fuel load and create a buffer in the south east corner of the Hincks Wilderness Protection Area to decrease the impact of future bushfires.Fire crews will monitor the fire grounds until the area is declared safe.
