The following worksheets and lesson plans have been made available for the use of teachers and students by the Fire Watch Strategic Alliance Committee which is a cooperative, collaborative union of:
- SA Country Fire Service
- SA Metropolitan Fire Service
- South Australia Police
- National Parks and Wildlife
- Forestry SA
- South Australian Farmers Federation
- SA State Emergency Service
There are lesson plans and corresponding worksheets available for various year levels from Reception to Year 12. The "Bushfire and House Fire Teaching Package" aims to:
- Reduce the number of arson-related bushfires in South Australia
- Apprehend people involved in arson-related bushfires
- Raise awareness in young people of the dangers of deliberately lit bushfires
- Reduce the number of accidental fires, and
- Reduce the number of injuries and deaths caused by fire.
