The Country Fire Service State Training Centre at Brukunga has been developed to meet the changing needs of training for our Volunteers and the growing demands of industry and commerce in fire safety training. It promotes a practical environment with the highest quality instructors and facilities.

The CFS State Training Centre is situated at Brukunga in the Adelaide Hills just 35 minutes from Adelaide via the south-eastern freeway. This rural area offers an ideal environment for large and small group training. Brukunga is surrounded by the natural beauty of the flora and fauna unique to South Australia.  The Training Centre has an excellent accommodation area and classrooms in an ideal setting which is conducive to both relaxation and learning. Training is delivered in a number of areas from firefighting, to road crash rescue and HAZMAT to ensure CFS volunteers are trained to deal with any situation that may arise.

The State Training Centre is available for hire for meetings, conferences, seminars and training courses.

The CFS State Training Centre has excellent conference facilities, air conditioned training rooms provide comfortable conditions for effective theory instructions and can be used for any type of presentation, conference or seminar. Facilities include audio visual equipment, light pro imaging and amenities. Adjacent rooms may be used for course workshops.

At the CFS Training Centre on-site accommodation is available to meet the residential needs of clients.  Individually air-conditioned rooms with ensuite bathrooms are available, with all bedding supplied.  With king single ensemble beds the centre can accommodate up to 36 people. A quiet common area provides a relaxed area for study or group workshops.

At the Country Fire Service State Training Centre all meals can be catered for in air conditioned comfort at times to suit the course or conference programme. All meals cater for dietary needs to a style and presentation to suited to your requirements.

Training facilities at the CFS State Training Centre enable high quality practical exercises to be conducted. Live fuel fires and LP gas installations simulate realistic firefighting conditions. Exercises with Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus include working in heat, smoke, darkness and other obstacles. Various scenarios can be simulated from hazardous materials spills and motor vehicle accidents to realistic fires. CFS is the only training provider in the State to provide Compartment Fire Behaviour training to members of the Emergency Services.
